Epson Receipt Printers with Passport and Passport EDGE Systems
Passport Systems
Gilbarco recently began shipment of the new Epson receipt printer (serial based) for Passport system.
The new Passport receipt printer is Epson TM-70II, part number PA04270001.
This new printer brings additional benefits:
- Printer door opens from front rather than top
- Faster print speed (print speed=250mm/s)
- Slimmer in size
- Better accommodation of Signature Capture functionality with different default baud rate (38400)
At installation, the new printer and Passport automatically adjust compatibility settings with Passport version 11.02J and higher. When installing the new printer with v11.01 and below, the technician will need to adjust the default baud rate down to 9600 and the stop bit from 8 to 7 for the printer to properly communicate. MDE-5390 provides instructions.

This new printer replaces the prior Passport receipt printer, model Epson TM-88V part number PA04060013
Passport EDGE System
Please note that the Passport EDGE system uses a different Epson receipt printer than Passport. The Passport EDGE system uses the IP-based printer required to communicate within the Passport EDGE system.
