Changes to Passport Point-Of-Sale Factory-Installed Software Version

Dear Distributor Partner,

Beginning May 1, 2023, Gilbarco Veeder-Root will streamline the way Passport base software is installed and shipped. As of this date, all Passport systems shipped from Gilbarco Veeder-Root will be installed with the standard software version 21.03 until further notice. The standard base software version will change as newer versions are supported (e.g., when v22 is the standard, that will be the version of software shipped).

There will be no option to order an older version of Software. Field technicians will be expected to clean image the base software, if needed, and install the appropriate version. We don’t expect this to be a significant change for field technicians as we learned that most clean image the software version as part of their standard installation process.

By shipping the latest production release software, we expect to improve inventory management and lead times.
