Notice to Customers: End of Passport Certification of MX915 PIN Pad Device
Dear Distributor Partner:
The following letter was shared with all Major Oil Companies and will be emailed to retailers shortly. Please inform others in your organization that the Verifone MX915 PIN pad will no longer be certified with Passport after June 30, 2025.
Invenco by GVR is committed to providing you with the latest technology and the best possible service. To maintain this commitment, we periodically evaluate our product offerings and make changes that help us focus on innovation and security.
End of Certification for MX915 with Passport:
As of June 30, 2025, we will stop testing and certifying the Verifone MX915 indoor PIN pad with new Passport and EDH software releases.
The manufacturer no longer issues software updates, including new EMV kernels. Consequently, this device will not meet EMV certification requirements without a waiver. As software evolves, the likelihood of obtaining such waivers decreases, which could result in unsupported devices with little notice. To avoid any inconvenience, we are providing a clear end-of-support date to allow ample time for transition.
Release Schedule and Impact:
End of certification means that Invenco by GVR will no longer certify this device with payment software releases developed after this date. This applies to major software releases that are developed after this date. This does not apply to maintenance packs or hot fixes for previous releases. New payment features will no longer be developed to support this device, and software releases will no longer be tested with this device.
Invenco by GVR will make every effort to certify with new software as needed prior to this date. However, there is no guarantee that the payment processors and/or card brands will allow certification of a device with expired kernels.
Software releases prior to the end of this end of certification date will continue to be supported in accordance with the software release’s support schedule. Functional devices on previously released and supported software do not need to be removed from operation.
The second Passport release of 2025 will likely coincide with this date and will be the last planned release with MX915. Please note that while MX915 devices may continue to operate, they will not be tested or certified with software versions after this date. Retailers that continue to use these devices with uncertified releases may not comply with card brand or network regulations. Additionally, our help desk will no longer troubleshoot or resolve issues related to these devices on software releases that are not validated and certified.
The replacement option is the M400 PIN Pad, which is available now from your local distributor. If you are unsure who to contact, you can find them using our online locator tool: Distributor Locator | Invenco
