Passport® V11.01 with In-Store EMV Support Released for Phillips 66® on the HPS-D Network
Gilbarco has released its EMV-certified platform with the Passport Point-of-Sale (POS) for Phillips 66 retailers operating on the HPS (NYSE: HPY) Dallas network. Gilbarco’s Passport POS solution provides support for both EMV credit and debit, in-store transactions. Current Gilbarco customers can work with their Gilbarco Distributor or Authorized Service Contractor to obtain the software update.
Phillips 66 recently announced that Gilbarco is the first vendor to deliver EMV-capable software functionality for the Phillips 66, 76 and Conoco branded stations. Phillips 66’s announcement also included the following EMV liability shift statement:
“As previously announced, the EMV liability shift for inside transactions is dependent upon the availability of EMV-capable software with timing specific to the various EPOS systems. With the release of Gilbarco’s new software featuring inside EMV capability, this liability shift for all Gilbarco Passport sites begins January 1, 2017.”
Passport v11.01C includes an updated Maintenance Pack 3 (v11.01C MP3) and will be available for all Phillips 66 orders beginning no later than August 30.
Important Information:
- Customers upgrading from v8.0x will also need the EDH Windows 7 OS License Update (M09747K002xx).
- Notify networks 48 hours before an upgrade for the creation of an EMV PDL profile for the site. Typically, this PDL profile request is initiated by the retailer. However, Gilbarco Distributors and ASCs should be diligent in communicating this to each retailer to prevent delays in EMV activation on the day of install.
