Passport POS – v11.04B Software Release for Marathon

Gilbarco is pleased to announce the release of Passport v11.04B software on the Heartland Payment Systems – Dallas (HPS-D) network for Marathon.
Passport “v11.04B” contains the following support or enhancements:
- Outside EMV transaction support (may require dispenser and/or communications infrastructure upgrades)
- Passport EDGE
- New Marathon fraud prevention enhancements
- Direct “TLS 1.2” encrypted communications to the HPS-D network (allows removal of 3rd-party TLS encryption device – I.e. SmartLink)
- Gilbarco-certified Managed Network Service Provider (MNSP)
- Integrated EBT Food/Cash (pending completion of Marathon-sponsored beta testing)
- Graphical User Interface (GUI) refresh
- BOS Loyalty Details (Altria)
- Automatic Software Upgrade (ASU) improvements (validates system health before software install)
Marathon Requirements / Preferences:
- Marathon is requiring that Retailers upgrading to 11.04B software install a Gilbarco-certified MNSP to monitor and secure the payment network. Please contact the Marathon Help Desk or work with the Marathon Retailer to obtain a copy of Marathon’s “v11.04B Software Update” bulletin which outlines all of Marathon’s upgrade requirements.
- Cybera is Marathon’s preferred MNSP vendor which provides 4G wireless failover (model 325).
- Other Gilbarco-certified MNSP devices are also approved for use at Marathon locations. Please reference the Gilbarco “Passport Partners & Peripherals” (MDE-3027) guide for a list of all certified MNSP vendors.
- Program “Quick Chip” to ON. Reference page 18 of the Marathon Network Addendum (MDE-5450)

Retailers with active PSO are eligible for complimentary software upgrades. Retailers with expired PSO must reactivate PSO or purchase a software upgrade.
Important Information:
- 04B requires 16GB EDH flash memory
- Software versions higher than v11.02 will not run on Px52 hardware. Px60 Passport or Px65 Passport EDGE hardware is required to run v11.04B or higher software versions.
- Retailers must contact the HPS-D network 2 business days in advance of the v11.04B upgrade to allow adequate time for the configuration of a site-specific EMV profile. Merchant ID and Terminal ID #s required. This EMV profile request is usually initiated by the Retailer. However, Gilbarco Distributors and ASCs should be aware of and communicate this requirement to the Retailer to prevent EMV activation delays on the day of installation.HPS Help Desk hours are 8am – 8pm EST
