MX915 PIN pad end of life
PCI regulation dictates that PTS-POI v4 devices (e.g., MX915) may not be sold for new site installations after April 30, 2024. A site with an existing MX915 PIN pad may continue to use it after April 30, 2024, and may be replaced with another MX915 (while supply lasts) or with an M400 or P400 PIN pad.
You may have questions, so we are providing answers to what we feel might be most common.
Q: If I update my Passport software, do I need to purchase new PIN Pads?
A: No, the existing MX915 PIN Pad may still be used.
Q: If I have MX915 PIN pads today, do I have to replace them with M400 PIN Pads now?
A: No. The MX915 PIN Pad can be used until the PCI sunset date. For PTS-POI v3 devices the sunset date is Dec 31, 2030. For PTS-POI v4 devices the sunset date is not yet defined.
Q: Is anything required to be able to purchase the M400 PIN Pad?
A: Ensure you are using the version of Passport noted above for the network you are using.
Q: When will Gilbarco stop selling the MX915?
A: We will most likely run out of MX915 PIN Pad stock before the end of 2023.
Q: Is my MX915 PIN pad inventory obsolete? What should I do with it? Will Gilbarco give me a refund?
A: No, the MX915 PIN Pads that you have in stock may be sold to any site until April 30, 2024. After that date, MX915 PIN pads may still be sold as a replacement for existing MX915 at existing sites. No returns will be accepted.
