Mobile Payment for Shell-Branded Locations
In the field, there is confusion that Shell Indoor NFC (mobile payment via ApplePay, etc) has been turned off by Shell. However, this has not happened yet. Shell’s plan to do this is currently estimated to happen in March. Please note that Gilbarco Veeder-Root does not control this through Passport. This ability is driven through Shell and their Vantage box that controls the pin pads and network processing.
Currently, contactless methods supported by Passport are those based on ISO 14443 and requires a contactless-capable pin pad device (e.g., Ingenico iSC250, Ingenico iPP320, and Verifone Mx915).
