We recently released Passport software for BP branded customers who want to take advantage of the new interface with Verifone Commander-E to accept EMV indoor transactions as required for BP’s Retail Site Technology Program. Gilbarco will ship all new Passport BP systems ordered and in queue with Gilbarco today with the 11.02 software. Some items to remember:
- Please check with the Technical Resource Page and Gold for new documentation and installation instructions on this new version of Passport for BP. (MDE-5372A, MDE-5371A, MDE-5324A)
- BP has mandated to their branded retailers that existing Passport customers who want to participate in supporting indoor EMV through their network must upgrade to a PX60 platform. The v11.02 software is not designed or certified to work efficiently on the existing PX-52 platform.
- The new version does require the use of the Commander-E box supplied by Verifone via BP. This version will not work with the existing Viper solution.
- The new version does require the use of the approved EMV pinpad which is the Verifone MX-915 which is supplied by BP.
- Customers may contact you wanting to upgrade and they are not part of the official BP program. You can sell them the Passport and provide them the production software but they will need to contact their local BP representative concerning sourcing the required Commander and pinpad components.
- We will discuss this software release and subsequent programs in more detail in the upcoming Monday Distributor Webcast on 22nd. If you have any other pricing/promotion questions please contact amy.wilson@gilbarco.com.
